FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - January 28, 2013 - Tropical Nut and Fruit Co, Orlando Florida is voluntarily recalling five lots of snack mix "Chia ReCharged Stix Mix” 5 ounce pouches because they may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.The recalled "Chia ReCharged Stix Mix” 5 ounce pouches were distributed between June 6 th, 2012 to October 23 rd, 2012 to wholesalers and in retail stores nationwide.No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.Item Name: “Chia ReCharged Stix Mix” 5 ounce stand up resealable plastic pouches.UPC Code: 0 94184 01014 6Affected lot numbers are stamped on master case. 12 pouches make up a case and the lot numbers are as follows:052112

081612Affected packages can be identified by the best before date stamped on the back of the pouches above the bar code. These best before date are from 01/20/13 to 04/17/13.The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts.
